Bethnal Green Pocket Park

I have been in Bethnal Green today looking at progress on a new pocket park in Derbyshire Street, which has been designed and ‘promoted’ by Landscape Architects Greysmith Associates, working with neighbours Oxford House (one of the first ‘settlement houses’, who celebrate their 130th anniversery this year).

The planting will go in soon, and the park will feature in this year’s ‘Chelsea Fringe’ along with arts and community events in Oxford House.

Just around the corner I spotted this – which I include out of interest.

  1. Steven – Good to see you celebrating pocket parks. There are a number of similar initiatives being undertaken in the London Bridge area sponsored by the local BID team working with imaginative architects and landscapers; well worth a visit.

      Thanks Malcolm

I was in the London Bridge Area yesterday but didn’t spot any pocket parks on our way down to Elephant and Castle and then cutting through Borough Market on our way to Bankside – I muust have more of an explore.

If you need any further input from Landscape Architects I can recommend Greysmith Associates – I know Luke from when we both worked on The Eden Project. Just ask me if you want his contact details.
