Gravesend Regeneration Scheme Rejected

Plans for the £120m regeneration of Gravesend’s ‘Heritage Quarter’ have been rejected by Gravesham Council’s Independent Regulatory Board, despite a recommendation to accept from the planning officers.

From what I saw of the proposals, I would have also rejected them, but I am surprised that it has taken 5 years of discussions and work to produce a scheme which has been rejected. There seems to have been a breakdown in communications somewhere.

It will also be interesting to see what happens to the proposals for the Western Gateway, which is being brought forward by the same developer.
